ANDREA SBRA PEREGO
Andrea Sbra Perego was born in Bergamo in 1982, he studied at the Art School of Bergamo and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan.
Since 2000 he has exhibited his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in various Italian cities like Milan, La Spezia, Rome and Genoa. A fundamental step in his research is 2006, was when he wrote the “Fantastic Treaty on Oroccoccoro Manifesto”, a book that gave birth in 2013 to the Oroccoccoro Global Art Movement, a movement made up of mostly Italian artists who live and work in different countries of the world (Italy, United Kingdom, Malaysia, USA).
In 2008 he moved to Rome, then to Rimini and London; after a short stay in Mexico in 2015 he traveled back to his hometown. It was during those years of constant movement that his artistic production focused on analyzing the close relationship between Man and Urban environment, to “talk about the present, because living the present is or should be responsibility of any artist”; so his works often involve the human figure, or Man portrayed as the protagonist or seen in his natural interaction with the urban territory.
Andrea currently resides and works in Turin. Among some of his most important exhibitions to mention are those of 2014 in London (BCA Architects, Hide Gallery), Kuala Lumpur, Milan (77 Art Gallery) and Cancun (Galeria Luis Sottil) and 2015 in Berlin (WerkKunst Gallery) and Venice (JW Marriot Hotel).
In December 2017, Andrea Sbra Perego was the winner of the Roca International Design Award through Zenith Art & Fashion, where he created 200 exclusive ceramic tiles painted with a unique design by the artist. He created a second piece which is now exhibited at Zenith Art & Fashion for a limited time and will be later donated to the Miami International Airport.
